In this article, I write a list of essential websites for looking for an apartment in Denmark.
To have an apartment in Denmark CPR (Danish ID Number) is required, in case you are without CPR, you must contact the owner and find out who is willing to rent without CPR.
Without a valid CPR, a document that can only be obtained by having certain pre-requisites for work or money, you can opt for a holiday home while you are here in Denmark and are looking for work.
For the holidays read my tourist section on the top menu.
1- Boligportal
Boligportal is one of the most popular websites for searching for houses and apartments in Denmark.
To contact the owner you must have a small subscription that you can cancel when you have found a house.
2- Lejebolig
LejeBolig is another popular website for finding houses and apartments in Denmark.
Simple and very intuitive graphics.
3- Facebook Group
One of the widely used systems for finding apartments and houses in Denmark is the use of social networks, such as Facebook.
To search for apartments in Danish, you have to use the word Lejlighed (Apartment) and
also try Til Leje (Rent).
From here you have to try to communicate in English.
The rules for renting an apartment are always the same classic, 3 months in advance + the month of entry.
Talk to the owner about every detail, as sometimes there are different needs.
4- Boligforening
In Denmark you will find many Building Associations (Boligforening) where the service is very good and the apartments are generally better managed than small private companies.
Typically you need to sign up, but I recommend speaking to the office for any details.
These associations are very valid because they are in direct contact with your municipality of residence and may have some "help" or facilitation, but for all this you have to speak to your municipality of residence, in the office of your country / city.
Search in the Google: Boligforening + [name city/region]
